Back in February Lemon HQ received a dream brief. The client was looking to put on a private festival at their home.
Think live music, tipis, silent disco, dancing till dawn, camping and a lots of Pimms! This wasn’t just any private party, this was a chance for Lemon to do what we do best – curate and co-ordinate an event to remember (with the best of the best in live entertainment of course!).
After multiple site visits, wet-weather plans, and a touch of Lemon creative magic – SydFest was born! Lanyards were ordered, 300 invites sent and suppliers booked, all we needed now was a sunny weekend in June!
Luckily for all we were blessed with an absolute scorcher! Both Lucy and Georgia were on hand for all weekend to run the event, ensuring it was a super smooth and super fun weekend. (Spoiler alert: it was!)
Herringbone Cocktail Club kicked off Saturday afternoon with the perfect concoction of medleys that earned them fans young and old!
Being a roaming band Herringbone have the ability to go wherever the party is, ensuring that everyone got a chance to enjoy their mix.
In between sets we made sure there was plenty to keep everyone entertained, from a popcorn machine, kids zone and of course in true festival style a Glitter Station!
Saturday’s Hog Roast was served by Cutting Edge Catering and a feast was had by all.
Next on the live music line up for Saturday was ‘Contempo’. It’s hard to describe what makes this act so special, Electrifying is the only word that comes to mind. As a multi-instrumentalist Contempo has the power to captivate an audience with his immense talent. Kids, Parents, and even Grandparents were on their feet dancing to Contempos eclectic mix of songs and skills.
‘Rocking Steady’ then took over with a set-list perfect for a tent full of party-goers. The kids were put to bed and ‘Rocking Steady’ worked the crowd and kept everyone up and dancing until midnight. Into the early morning the silent disco was turned on and the dance moves on the tipi floor had to be seen to be believed.
The next day was a more chilled out affair (probably due to a few sore-heads!) but our diverse roster allowed us to suggest and provide entertainment to suit all tastes.
Food for Sunday was provided by Vaporetto Pizza and went down an absolute storm. ‘Empire’ and ‘Dos Tiempos’ were our performers of the day and with alternating sets the music was perfect for a sunny Sunday afternoon with an Ibiza vibes twist courtesy of ‘Dos Tiempos’.
As a DJ Drum Duo, ‘Dos Tiempos’ bring something different to any party and SydFest was the perfect setting for them to earn themselves a hoard of new fans!
Empire brought a more power pop-tastic set to the table which brought everyone back to life and back to the dancefloor!
As the day grew to a close and the clear-up began we knew we’d just created a weekend to remember! SydFest was a huge success and we haven’t stopped talking about it in the office! So that’s it Festival Season is officially upon us and we can’t wait to work on more!
