What is a Wedding Day Co-Ordinator?

A wedding day co-ordinator is someone who will come on board and run your day for you, taking away the worry and stress that sometimes comes with hosting a wedding. Their role includes making sure the day runs to time, ensuring guests are happy, overseeing suppliers and dealing with any last-minute challenges that arise. At House of Lemon we have been offering this service for over 9  years and it is one of our most popular wedding services.

Hello, I’m Lucy! I am an event planner & live music consultant. I believe that life should be loaded with exceptional memories, made from phenomenal events, sprinkled with remarkable people. I work alongside clients to make sure they have the best day possibly by ensuring that the wedding day runs smoothly . I have a real passion for turning dreams into a reality and will take the pressure off as much or as little as you need. I’m happy to take on any job no matter how big or small to ensure you can enjoy each moment of your special day with peace of mind.

As with all our services, proposals and quotes are totally bespoke, but the below is an example of what we might provide for your Wedding Day. This service is based on you booking, researching and securing all suppliers / decor etc, then from month running up to the big day you would pass all the information over to me, you can relax and I would take over the co-ordinating of your wedding. Examples of what this could include are :


  • Creation and execution of event timeline and schedule / co-ordinating schedule to time
  • Contacting and liaising with all suppliers in the weeks running up to the wedding and ensuring they know their individual schedules and timings.
  • Overseeing all suppliers during the wedding day
  • Managing any emergencies that may arise on the day
  • Ensuring the tables have been set perfectly and that the table plan has been executed correctly.
  • Directing florist if needed
  • Co-ordinating schedule to timings
  • Make the wedding party aware of any last minute details
  • Guest liaison/answering any questions guests have
  • Checking toilets are clean throughout the day and evening
  • Liaison with photographer
  • Liaison with musicians/ entertainment
  • Liaison with suppliers such as entertainment to make sure they set up in the right place and know where to go when they aren’t performing.
  • Ensure good flow of reception drinks and canapés
  • Help guests find their tables
  • Cue for speeches
  • Alert catering staff to pour champagne just before toasts
  • Liaison with catering staff to ensure smooth service flow
  • Responsibility to any cash that needs to be paid on the day to suppliers
  • On hand for guests and bridal party throughout the whole event
  • Any last minute purchases that need collecting
  • Packing up of cards, presents and any other special items
  • Co-ordination of departure transport – help with taxi’s etc
  • Pre wedding meetings – usually 2 x 1 hour meetings
  • Site visits before wedding

Your wedding day is probably the most important day of your life so far. You want to enjoy every moment and by having a co-ordinator on board you can pass on those supplier contact numbers you’ve put together, throw away those worries about who is going to make sure the flowers are brought back from the church to the reception and nightmares about who will fix any problems that might arise on the day. You could have the best caterer, the most amazing band and most epic flowers – but if no one knows where they are setting up or how the flow of day should be the event could be affected and in turn make you stressed and unable to enjoy your big day.
